Ask a Question

Clear Answers Before You Start

Starting personal training or online coaching can feel like a big step, especially if you are new to the gym, returning after a long break or unsure which type of support is right for you.

These frequently asked questions cover the things most people want to know before getting started, including fitness level, training frequency, nutrition, weight loss, muscle building, strength and conditioning, previous injuries and what is included in coaching.

The aim is simple. You should know what to expect, how the process works and whether coaching is the right fit for your goals.

Quick Overview

Coaching is tailored to your current fitness level, experience, lifestyle and goals. You do not need to be fit before starting, and you do not need previous gym experience.

Getting Started

Do I need gym experience to get started?

Not at all. Many clients start with little or no gym experience. Every programme is tailored to your current fitness level, and I will guide you every step of the way.

What if I am unfit or have not exercised in years?

That is completely fine. Coaching is designed to meet you where you are and help you progress at a pace that is right for you. The first step is not about being perfect. It is about starting safely and building from there.

Do I need to be fit before starting?

No. Getting fit is the goal, not the requirement. Your programme will be adapted to your starting point, then progressed as your strength, fitness and confidence improve.

Am I too old to start?

Absolutely not. Whether you are 18 or 80, it is never too late to improve your strength, fitness and overall health. Training can be adapted to suit all ages, abilities and experience levels.

How do I get started?

Simply get in touch through the contact form, social media or email, and we will arrange a consultation to discuss your goals, current fitness level and the best coaching option for you.

Training, Nutrition and Results

How many times per week should I train?

This depends on your goals, lifestyle and experience. Most clients see strong progress training between 2 and 4 times per week, provided the plan is consistent and realistic.

Do I need to follow a strict diet?

No. The focus is sustainable nutrition that fits around your lifestyle. The goal is to create healthy habits you can maintain long-term, not force you into a short-term diet you cannot stick to.

Can you help with weight loss?

Yes. Whether your goal is to lose body fat, improve fitness or build healthier habits, I will create a personalised plan to help you move towards that goal in a structured and sustainable way.

Can you help me build muscle and strength?

Yes. Programmes are designed around progressive training principles to help you increase strength, build muscle and improve overall performance over time.

How long does it take to see results?

Everyone is different, but many clients notice improvements in energy, fitness and confidence within a few weeks. Visible body composition changes usually take longer and depend on consistency with training, nutrition and lifestyle habits.

Online Coaching

What is included in online coaching?

Online coaching includes a personalised training programme, nutritional guidance, regular check-ins, accountability and ongoing support to help you stay on track.

What makes your coaching different?

My coaching focuses on sustainable habits, ongoing support and personalised programmes that fit around your lifestyle and goals. The aim is long-term progress, not quick fixes that fall apart after a few weeks.

Strength & Conditioning

What is Strength & Conditioning training?

Strength and Conditioning combines strength development, movement training and conditioning work to improve overall fitness, athletic performance and resilience.

Do you work with athletes?

Yes. I work with athletes from a variety of sports who want to improve strength, fitness, speed, power and overall performance.

Can Strength & Conditioning help prevent injuries?

No programme can completely eliminate injury risk. However, improving strength, mobility and movement quality can significantly reduce common risk factors and help the body cope better with training and sport demands.

Can I train if I have a previous injury?

In many cases, yes. Training programmes can be adapted around previous injuries and limitations. Where required, I may work alongside healthcare professionals to help ensure training is safe and effective.

Still Have a Question?

The best coaching plan depends on your goals, training history, fitness level and lifestyle. Get in touch and we can discuss the right option for you.
